Hikes around Aiguines

Panoramic view at the Grand Margès top (1577 m.)

The Verdon footpaths offer to discover unforgettable viewpoints, but are classified as "difficult". Always stay on footpaths and cross the Verdon river only on made-up footbridges (to avoid to be carried away by the river).

Imbut trail
This hike is inundeniably the most beautiful of the Grand Canyon. The footpath follows the Verdon bed up to the Imbut point (Imbut = funnel).
The ascent of the Canyon is done thanks to the difficult Vidal exit.

The start point is close to the Grand Canyon hotel, 15 kilometres far from the village.

Hike lenght : 6-8 kilometres
Descent / Ascent difference of level : 340 metres / 400 metres
Walking time : 2h30 go - 3h back

Beware : this hike is unsuitable to children under 10 and to persons suffering from vertigo. Dogs are forbidden.

Discovery of the Grand Margès
The Grand Margès is 1577 metres at its highest point and offers an outstanding panorama.
At the top, the view is surprising : you can see the Sainte-Croix lake, the Valensole plateau, the lower part of the Grand Canyon, the foothills of the Alps near Digne or Castellane. The view goes from the Mont Ventoux and the Baronnies to the sea and the Massif des Maures.

You can start the hike in the village, following the GR 99.

Walking time : 2h30 go - 2h00 back (by the same footpath)
